Thrash, sludge, industrial metal and other plagues… Death Angel, Health, Eyehategod and Halocene confirm their participation in the upcoming edition of Mystic Festival.
Death Angel
We diligently bring thrash legends to the Mystic Festival stages – a genre which joins fans of classic metal variants with the zealots of the extreme. In 2025, we will host Death Angel, whose two first, perfect records – The Ultra-Violence and Frolic Through the Park – are inscribed into the genre’s canon. They have been looking for their identity also in different landscapes, but the blade of Death Angel’s music still cuts mercilessly, evidence of which can be found on their latest studio album Humanicide (2019) as well as on the two-year junior live album The Bastard Tracks. If that’s how they will play in Gdańsk, ye should be prepared for ultra-violence.
Health
Visions made famous by science fiction films translated into the idiom of music. Dark, pessimistic, dystopic visions, we should add. They started out touring with Nine Inch Nails, and on their latest record, Rat Wars, they have a song featuring Godflesh. Their music is equally good a fit for a metal music festival, club dancefloor, and video games, the best evidence of which is their Max Payne 3 soundtrack or contributions to the GTA V and Cyberpunk 2077 soundtracks.
Eyehategod
Even if you inhaled toxic fumes from the swamps of Louisiana since the cradle… you still wouldn’t be able to play like that, for Eyehategod is truly a one of a kind band. They are pioneers and kings of sludge metal from a time when it hadn’t yet crossed anyone’s mind to call by such a name this disgusting mixture of thrash, doom and hardcore with a little seasoning of blues. During their set, you will learn that metal does not mean a fun time – metal means suffering.
Halocene
The band was formed in Phoenix, Arizona, but its real place of origin is the world wide web. It is one of these internet phenomena which through their online activity – in this case, Twitch live shows consisting of mostly covers, not necessarily of songs of the extreme pedigree – built a fan following and then proved their worth with original material and fantastic concerts. You can expect absolutely everything during their live gig, but above all – amazing energy.
