Perturbator

Big performances, stimulants beyond human comprehension and acidic synthwave all in the cyberpunk reality – these are the keywords that characterise the creative output of Perturbator, i.e. James Kent. The French artist is one of the most prominent and vivid figures on the synthwave scene – a veteran of the genre who can fuse partying with piercing darkness. He will make each of you dance at the Mystic Festival.

History:

Born in 1993, James Kent hasn’t always been a believer in all things keys and electronic. He started out as a bona fide metalhead and he’s never really stopped being one. On the edge of adulthood, he became keenly interested in gothic music, coldwave, and electronic music, all of which eventually evolved into synthwave. As an 18-year-old, he brought to life the solo project Perturbator and within the first year (not including prior unofficial demos) he did more than some do throughout their whole lives. He released three EPs and two full-length albums, piquing the interest of the newly emerging synthwave scene. He gained a wider audience with the 2014 album Dangerous Days and his popularity only grew with the subsequent record, The Uncanny Valley. Currently, the French musician is held in high esteem both on the metal and the alternative scene.
