Mystic Festival 2025: Legends that shaped this music

From contemporary metal stars to legends who shaped and changed our beloved music – our stage is big enough for everyone. We are happy to welcome Bullet For My Valentine, who are celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Poison, I Am Morbid, with their Domination-heavy set, the great Arthur Brown, and Signs of the Swarm as new additions to this festival’s program.

Bullet For My Valentine

It is hard not to see Bullet For My Valentine as the descendants of Metallica or Iron Maiden, not only when it comes to the music itself, but also because the Welsh band can cross genre and cultural borders with their metal music, reaching the popular audience, just as well. Next year, Bullet For My Valentine will celebrate a glorious anniversary, for two decades will have passed since they released their debut album The Poison… and what a ride it has been! Their festival show then will predominantly come from the material off of this thrilling record, which has sold over two million units worldwide.

I Am Morbid – Domination set

The sounds escaping out of this throat are certainly morbid, as the band’s name itself suggests. I Am Morbid is also the only currently alive descendant of the death metal gods Morbid Angel, with David Vincent and Pete Sandoval in the ranks. We get to keep then that voice and that rhythm section, with guitars falling into the masterful hands of Bill Hudson and Richie Brown. If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, you will be quick to notice that their set will primarily stem from Morbid Angel’s mighty album Domination.

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown

“Arthur Brown has the voice of death” is how Bruce Dickinson once described him, admitting to drawing inspiration from his work (“You will never know how many millions I earned copying you”) and inviting him to record together. First at the helm of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, then both in the ranks of the tremendous Kingdome Come and on his own, the 82-year-old artist has been pushing the rock envelope into hellish directions. He was the first one to don the ghoulish face paint, inspiring all these youngsters like Alice Cooper or KISS, and he was the first one to experiment with his voice, going in the direction from which in time all forms of the metal scream would evolve. Come and meet the legend’s gaze.

Signs of the Swarm

“IWONTLETYOUDIE” is the title of the latest single from the Pittsburgh four-piece. They won’t let you die only because it would cut the torture from their knockout punches way too short. Brutal American death metal, slam, deathcore… potato, potahto, what’s important is that this marriage of heaviness and technique is irresistible. You have been warned.
